We collect only what is necessary to provide our service:

• Account information: name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register.
• Profile data: optional display name, age range, and skill level you provide.
• Game data: chess moves, PGN files, and game history tied to your account.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and error logs — used to improve the platform.
• Payment information: billing details processed securely by Stripe. We never store full card numbers.
• Device & log data: IP address, browser type, and operating system for security and diagnostics.

We do not collect precise geolocation, biometric data, or any information unrelated to the chess learning experience.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and learning progress.
• Power Thinky’s personalized coaching and explanations.
• Process payments and manage your subscription.
• Send essential service communications (e.g., password resets, billing receipts).
• Improve the platform through anonymized analytics.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We will never sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent.

We share your data only with trusted service providers who are contractually bound to protect it:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
• OpenAI / Anthropic/ Google — AI coaching features (only anonymized game data and prompts).
• ElevenLabs — voice commentary features.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

We implement industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).
• Hashed and salted passwords — we never store plaintext passwords.
• Role-based access controls — only authorized team members can access production data.
• Regular security audits and dependency vulnerability scanning.

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics cookies (if any) are anonymized and cannot identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
